On their way up, George and Gracie were recognized by other talents in the business who helped to give their careers a boost.  One such notice came from Guy Lombardo, a famous band leader of the era.

Burns & Allen joined The Guy Lombardo Show in 1932 and became a regular comedy act on the show.  By 1934, their antics had come to dominate the program and became the main reason that people listened, and so the show was re-titled The Adventures of Gracie.
